Terms

Terms of use

The plain-language terms for using the Jobly extension, website and server. Free, no account, no warranty.

Last updated

The short version. Jobly is free. It shows public job listings from other companies, so check details on the employer’s site before you rely on them. Use the extension and the server fairly, and we’ll keep them running as well as we can.

Agreeing to these terms

By installing the Jobly extension or using this website or Jobly’s server, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use them. The privacy policy explains how data is handled and is part of these terms.

What Jobly does

Jobly collects public job postings from company career pages and job boards and shows them to you with their posting date. When you apply, you leave Jobly and apply on the original listing: the employer’s own site, or the job board where the job was posted. Jobly is not an employer, recruiter or agency, and it does not take part in any hiring decision.

Job listings belong to others

  • Listings, company names and logos belong to the employers and job boards that published them. Jobly is not affiliated with them, and showing a listing is not an endorsement.
  • Listings can be wrong, out of date or already filled. Jobly hides anything older than 60 days and removes jobs the employer no longer lists, but it can’t promise that every listing is current. Always check the employer’s own page.
  • If a listing looks like a scam or is clearly wrong, use Report this listing in the extension or write to us.

If you are an employer

Jobly shows jobs that employers publish on their own public job boards. If a listing is wrong, or you would rather it wasn’t shown, write to us with the link and we will correct or remove it. Taking the job off your own careers page also removes it from Jobly at the next refresh, within a few hours.

Free, with no guarantees

Jobly is free and has no paid tier. The server runs on a free hosting plan, so it can be slow to wake up or briefly unavailable. We may change, pause or end any part of the service.

Jobly is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind. To the extent the law allows, the people who make Jobly are not liable for any loss that comes from using it, including a missed job or a listing that turned out to be wrong.

Fair use of the server

Jobly’s server exists to answer the extension and this website. Please don’t:

  • Send automated traffic at a rate that slows it down for others, or try to get around its rate limits.
  • Try to break into it, test its security without telling us, or use it to attack anyone else.
  • Resell its data or present it as your own service.

We may block traffic that does this. If you’d like to build something on Jobly’s data, ask us first.

Jobly’s name, software and credits

The Jobly name, logo, extension and website belong to their maker. You may use them to find jobs; please don’t copy, resell or rebrand them.

Jobly is built with work by others: the Switzer typeface by Indian Type Foundry (ITF Free Font License), icons from Hugeicons (MIT license), illustrations from hairline, and place names from GeoNames, licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change matters, we’ll note it in the extension’s release notes and on the roadmap. Using Jobly after a change means you accept the new terms.
