Every date, straight from the source.
A job’s age is the most useful thing to know before you apply. Here is exactly where Jobly gets each date, what it does with old jobs, and where the limits are.
The rules
The employer’s own date
Jobly reads the posting date from the system the employer published the job in, not the day Jobly happened to find it.
Nothing older than 60 days
Jobs posted more than 60 days ago are never stored, and jobs that pass the limit are removed at the next refresh.
Closed jobs go away
When an employer takes a job down, Jobly stops showing it at the next refresh, within about two hours.
How old are the jobs in Jobly right now?
Every open job, grouped by when the employer posted it. These numbers come straight from Jobly’s server.

Where each date comes from
Jobly reads company career pages through the hiring system each company uses, plus three remote job boards. Each one names its date a little differently.
| Source | Type | Date Jobly reads | What it means |
|---|---|---|---|
| Greenhouse | Careers page | first_published (falls back to updated_at) | When the job was first published on the careers page |
| Ashby | Careers page | publishedAt | When the employer published the job |
| Lever | Careers page | createdAt | When the posting was created |
| Workday | Careers page | postedOn | Text such as “Posted 3 Days Ago”, turned into a date |
| Amazon Jobs | Careers page | updated_time (falls back to posted_date) | Amazon’s own date for the posting |
| SmartRecruiters | Careers page | releasedDate | When the employer released the posting |
| Workable | Careers page | published_on | When the employer published the job |
| Recruitee | Careers page | published_at | When the employer published the offer |
| Teamtailor | Careers page | pubDate (RSS) | When the employer published the job |
| Personio | Careers page | createdAt | When the position was created |
| Careers page | Careers page | datePosted (JSON-LD) | The structured date many careers pages publish for search engines |
| We Work Remotely | Job board | published (RSS) | When the board published the listing |
| Himalayas | Job board | created_at | When the listing was created |
| Arbeitnow | Job board | created_at | When the listing was created |

When a date isn’t clear-cut
No method is perfect. These are the cases where a date in Jobly can be off, and what Jobly does about them.
Relative dates
Some systems say “Posted 3 days ago” instead of a date. Jobly turns that into a date when it reads the page. “30+ days ago” counts as 30 days, so those jobs can be a little older than shown.
No date at all
If a source gives no date, Jobly doesn’t invent one. The job has no age on its card, appears after dated jobs, and is left out whenever you use the Date posted filter.
Reposts
If an employer closes a job and publishes it again as a new posting, it gets a new date. Jobly can’t tell that apart from a new job.
Updated, not new
Greenhouse is read from the date a job was first published. Only when that’s missing does Jobly fall back to the last update, which can make a job look newer than it is.
